With 3 simple pieces of information you can quickly find the correct part number.

• The mounting position of the U-Joint to be covered?

• The U-Joint Series (size) 1710 (under 7" across) or 1810 (over 7" across)

• If driveshaft position, the approximate diameter of the driveshaft.

If approximate driveshaft diameter is known, select a Multi-Fit Kit.

If precise driveshaft diameter can be measured, select a Single-Fit Kit and save money.

The covers are lightweight (less than 2 lbs each) & consist of 2 identical halves, so they are perfectly in balance. Correct mounting (according to the instructions) centers the cover on the driveline axis, eliminating runout & vibration.

We consulted with several heavy towing operators to address this very issue. Fasteners are large enough (5mm bolts), NOT phillips-head screws but Hex (Allen) socket heads (needs 4mm wrench), bi-metal (stainless nutserts & zinc plated bolts) so threads don't gall. Finally, the hex heads of the bolts are oriented to be 'trailing' in rotation on the cover at the front drive axle to make sure the hex heads aren't packed with junk. Simply loosen the 6 mounting bolts & slide the cover away from the u-joint.
